Well, I was brought up in Newport, South Wales, but soon got fed up with the rain and miserable weather. So I decided to make a move to Italy; after all it’s the country of my origins.
Having worked as a teacher in English schools in Milan and Rome I finally settled down in Cosenza where I officially opened Robert’s School of English in 1995. Over the years the school has grown and it’s said to be the place to learn English in Cosenza.
Away from school I love playing golf. This takes me to many fantastic places such as Scotland, the U.S.A., Asia and Europe. One of my highlights was when I first visited St. Andrews, the home of golf in 2010.
Another passion of mine is wine; I’m lucky enough to make my own wine here in Calabria from our family vineyeard called Tenuta Moliterno as well as drinking the fine wines that Italy has to offer, ranging from the great Barolo and Barbarescos of Piemonte, Amarone della Valpolicella, the Super Tuscans and the Nero D’Avola and Shiraz from sunny Sicily just to name a few.
And when I set off on a holiday with my wonderful son Pasquale and my lovely wife Alessandra I won’t forget to bring a hand made Cohiba Sublime or Montecristo N°2 Cuban cigar with me on my travels around the world.
